Raffle Surpasses Milestone

NSRC 2021 Raffle reaches £3000 mark as volunteers raise funds

The North Staffordshire Railway Company (1978) is delighted to say that its annual Raffle surpassed the £3,000 figure over the course of the weekend - which considering we were forced to start the appeal 6 months late is a brilliant achievement all round. Tickets for the 2021 Raffle went on sale at the same time as steam services on the Churnet Valley Railway recommenced in July. Since then trains have operated on 49 days, with 98 return trips being provided during which our volunteer team of Train Ticket Inspectors have done their best to sell these tickets alongside their standard duties. Particularly congratulations need to be made to Alex and Ben, who between them have sold over £2000 alone!

As the 2021 season draws to a close, there are still limited opportunites to buy your ticket before the draw is made on 6th November. Prizes include an exclusive footplate experience along the Churnet Valley and a dining voucher for two on the CVR hugely popular steam dining train in 2022. If you've not ventured out yet, then why not come on down for a journey discovering Staffordshire's hidden valley and join in the fun?

This year we are raising funds for the purchase of specialist maintenance equipment for our infrastructure teams, that will assist with the regular maintenance programme required of an operational railway and the planned extensions - including Leek! Tickets are only £1, and can be purchased from our TTIs on board any service train. Members will be receiving their usual pack of five with our next edition of The Knotty.
